Rose Federal Employment Law is the federal employment practice of DC Consumer Law Group, PLLC. We represent employees, never agencies and never employers. Our deepest focus is representing federal employees in the administrative systems where federal careers are defended.
What we do
Our practice covers the four situations that bring most federal employees to a lawyer: discrimination and harassment under the federal-sector EEO process, disciplinary actions from the first proposal letter through MSPB appeal, reprisal for whistleblowing, and terminations that may be any of the three. These systems have their own judges, their own procedures, and deadlines measured in days. We work in them every day.
Federal employees are our primary focus, not our boundary. Employment law is the full practice: through DC Consumer Law Group, PLLC we also represent private-sector employees and state-government employees in the courts and agencies where those cases belong, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
How we work
We are candid, starting with the first conversation. If you have a strong case, we'll tell you what makes it strong and what it will take. If we don't think a case is worth pursuing, we'll say that plainly too, before you spend money on it. And because federal deadlines are jurisdictional, we treat your dates as the first fact of the case: every evaluation starts with what has to be filed, and by when.
Where we work
We're based in the Washington, DC metro area, where the agencies, the EEOC's federal-sector operation, and the MSPB sit. Federal-sector practice is not bound by geography. EEO investigations, MSPB hearings, and OSC matters are conducted largely in writing and by video, and we represent federal employees nationwide.
Practice before federal agencies, the EEOC, and the MSPB is federal administrative practice that does not depend on admission in any particular state. Where a matter requires court admission, we appear only where admitted or by permission of the court.
